FIREFLY RATIOS

Electric wheels like the Firefly do not have ratios, because they have a variable speed knob that you adjust to the speed you need to spin your fiber of choice. The SpinOlution Firefly is the fastest electric wheel on the market to date with a top RPM of 3200 when the 4A flyer is plugged into the wall (top speeds are slightly slower when running from the battery).

FIREFLY EVOLUTION

  • 2024: The Firefly whorl evolved from gold whorl to Made in America 3D printed in black to be more sustainable.

  • 2021/2022: The Firefly flyer head evolved to be compatible with an Echo base.

  • 2018: The Firefly flyer head evolved from corian whorl to golden whorl to increase speeds. Due to high speeds, the flyer rod was increased from 1/4” to 3/8” for additional stability.

  • 2015: The Firefly flyer pegs evolved from clear pegs with gold screws to black pegs (the same pegs that are on current flyers) and the wooden whorl evolved to corian whorl.

  • 2014: The first Firefly wheel was sold by SpinOlution.
